Annecy Int’l Film Festival to host ‘We Only Get One Planet’

‘We Only Get One Planet’ is to vie at 60th Annecy Int'l Animation Film Festival in France.

‘We Only Get One Planet’ has been invited to the competition of this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival (ASIFA) in France.

Aqil Hosseinian’s short film will go on screen in the “Commissioned Films in Competition” section of the 60th edition of the event.

Canadian art expert Marco De Blois, Korean director and producer Dahee Jeong and Art Ludique Le Musée Managing Director Diane Launier from France compose the members of the jury for this section of the festival.

The animation tells the story of a passenger, who is eating while sitting on the back seat of a moving car, throwing his rubbish out of the car window. This rubbish is collected, along with all the other rubbish that has been thrown out onto the road.

Earlier reports announced that Kid’s short flick ‘The Eleventh Step’ by Maryam Kashkulinia is also among the Iranian contenders of the “Young Audiences Short Films in Competition” section of the 60th edition of Annecy.

For this year, the festival received over 3,171 films from around the globe between November and March.

Created in 1960, ASIFA is one of the four international animated film festivals sponsored by the International Animated Film Association.

This year was supposed to be the film event’s 60th anniversary. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the festival will be conducted via online from June 15 to 30.
